i'd say a decent example of how to make a character lgbtqia without making it there enter personality would be moxie from helluva boss, he's bi but that's not his only personality trait (now, i definitely agree this show has some abysmal writing, like with stolace and blizø) but i think his writing is interesting and its appart of him, not his enter personality. tho those are my pet peaves
