the nice fancy and ones like the nezuko, hello kitty, or jjk tamagotchi are usually 20$ but you can get americanized/off brand ones at some dollar trees and hobby lobby, the offbrand ones are usually labled as “virtual pets” and usually let you chose what pet animal you want and have alot of options but they have less animations, special interactions and the pets on the americanized tamagotchis usually don’t evolve

if you have a tight budget you can order like 2 tamagotchi/virtual pets on temu for like 2$ lol

me personally i want to get the my melody tama and eevee one but the eevee one only released in japan TvT

i love taking turns with my bf “babysitting” these guys and theyre really fun to have when you know other people who have them and its cool to figure out how to get them to evolve the way you want them to
