Summer Sahur
The summer sun was burning bright
Kids stayed awake way past midnight
Fireflies danced in golden air
Music and laughter everywhere
Then from the street came a funny sound
Echoing softly all around
Tung tung tung sahur in the night
A sleepy drum in pale moonlight
Windows opened one by one
People smiling, having fun
The warm breeze carried joy afar
Underneath the glowing stars
Ice cream melted, sandals squeaked
Every day felt wild and sweet
And through the nights the rhythm flew
Tung tung tung sahur anew
Summer memories, loud and bright
Drums and dawn before first light
A season full of song and cheer
The happiest time of the year
