So I did some research, and the term (insert name of a certain snack) has a 400 year history - and none of it has to do with racial oppression ever, and only had anything to do with color incredibly recently.

Ima keep this short and if y'all don't believe something I say you can do your own fact checking and your own research for specific details, feel free to correct me if I made any mistakes or am spreading misinformation:

It's classist, not r@cist

• it started out as a word referring to someone obnoxious, similar to calling someone a "loud mouth" and used on people deemed ignorant, and later would commonly be used by upper class white people towards other White people they deemed as inferior before the concept of whiteness was even a thing
  -it later referred to poor white people in general, and would refer to the cracking of a whip, NOT because of slavery, but because poor people usually herded livestock and used whips.

It is based off racial AUTHORITY not racial oppression
-later it would the term refer to the cracking of a whip from slave owners

It was proudly reclaimed and cant be used as a weapon
-the culture the term actually was used against reclaimed it as the name of their subculture, these people refer to themselves as things like "Florida Crackers" and have things like "[censored] Restaurants" or "[censored] homes" and heck you even have the restaurant "[censored] Barrel" (which has some amazing food btw would def recommend), there's literally a whole "Southern [censored] Culture". You can't use the once classist term against these people because they've reclaimed it with pride.

(Off topic but this is a example of why i think black people should have reclaimed/kept the word negro instead of the N word because it's still used against them today and the word negro represents the African people who were from different cultures and considered themselves as separate being united by a shared horrific experience and cultural erasure, which feels way more powerful then calling ourselves Black and just "reclaiming" a word that's still used as a insult towards us from each other and people of other races to this day)

It doesn't have enough history to actually carry any weight
The term only recently was used referring to paler skin, and I believe it's likely just a result of people assuming that's just what it means. And even with its most recent interpreted meaning, it has ZERO history of actual systemic or wide-scale racial oppression and if anything is a classist term that has a history of being used by white people towards other white people.
