I am wearing shorts under this (you likely see the lavender shorts underneath)

and yes, I do dress like this irl with a tie or a ribbon bow but it's 2:33am RN and i'm tired , and no, i'm not cosplaying anyone 😭

basically, this skirt is nice and comfy, it's not super tight around my waist to the point I can't breathe but not so loose I need to wear a belt, which is rare for me to find in skirts, but the issue is it's too short, and before you go typing something like

"it's 2026! wear whatever you want! none cares it's not that short omg😭"

just know there's a reason why I didn't take any photos showing the back or side of it. there's a reason why I don't wear it anymore, it's a tad too short and i'm fairly modest I suppose.

for context i'm 5'10 and the skirt is a hot topic size medium, I got it from good will brand new with tags a few years ago and I was shorter then and so it was longer on me.

how I plan on fixing it is adding trim, kinda like how depictions of santa's outfit have white fluff around the cuffs, waist and sometimes neckline I'll be doing the same with fabric and if I have enough fabric left over I'll make a bow.

even if it's like 2 or 3 inches longer with trim that'd be ok and i'd feel comfortable wearing it irl again : D
I have a bunch of different types of fabric and i'll post some of them in replies and I wanna know what you guy's think would be the best type and color of what I have in terms of fabric and i'll likely give it trim and i'll make a bow for myself like later this week or maybe just tomorrow, idk bro 😭 I want this to be something I actually finish and post here

Skirts seem annoying abt privacy. I'd never wear one without shorts underneath.

I, for myself like my skirts to come to my knees but them being a tad shorter isn't too bad, I wear shorts (technically children's shorts from Walmart. I get two pairs of underskirt or "safety shorts" as i've heard them called for 5-6$ depending oth the store)
but not only for modestly reasons but for comfort, I find that they can prevent chafing and stuff like that
