There were other issues, but this was one of the larger things I noticed in it.

I'm sorry, but I am not going to pretend this book was any interesting. I've read Moliere's "The Miser" before this, and the core message of both of them is pretty much the same. There are a few differences but I could not help but notice the similarities which, unfortunately, made it worse. Had I read "Eugenie Grandet" before the other, then the other would've found itself as the worst. I do not like novels that centre their core message around money. I only read it because it was part of our literature class monthly compulsory reading programme.
