like when people larp the most accessable fandoms known to man, like DDLC for example. let's say someone will buy lots of ddlc merchendice, and talk about how great the game is while never even playing it or at least watching a playthrough despite ddlc literally being free on PC and mobile. like, what does one get from larping? I know and personally believe that word is heavily overused but there really are people out there who will just lie about liking a piece of media. like what do you gain from it? you're too lazy to read the text on DDLC let alone have the attention span for it so you're gonna lie about playing to seem "cool"? like, genuinely why?

another one is people who will trace, reupload, or edit other people's art and claim it's theirs. like, why? can you not draw so you deface and degrade someone else's art without their knowledge or consent? what do you gain from this? if you fool enough people, you get some extra followers? you stole someone else's art. you stole someone else's hard work and what happens when you get caught? (which will likely happen) what do you gain from this? especially when you risk getting caught and people dislike you afterwards. why not just post your own art regardless of if it's good or not, or just post something else online you are good at, like if you play a trumpet post a video of you playing that instead.
i'd rather see some MS paint scribbles or some other use of talent than just stolen content.

catfishing is probably the one with the absolute least gain and you will 100% get caught eventually. like let's say you steal a super model's photo (male or female, doesn't matter) or ask AI to make you a cute PFP. the second you get on a video call or go on a date, they'll know you are bullshitting. sure you might be able to get some money from this but once you're caught it's over.

another one is using AI to generate photos to deceive others, like trying to generate a photo of a "hot" boy or girl and posting it online to try to get attention. seriously, if you think it's neccery to lie to strangers about how you look for attention or general validation from the gender you are attracted to, you are truly pathetic and I pity you. if you are posting AI generated photos to feel beautiful/handsome, seriously don't. you are likely nowhere near as bad looking as you think you are and someone out there who will likely find you to be the most beautiful/handsome ever and by lying about what you look like on social media they might not want to be around you. and getting caught in this lie is extremely easy, just using an AI detector will seal your fate.

another one is when people just make shit up for no reason whatsoever other then to guilt trip you, like they do it almost on impulse, like you could call them out for lying and they'll turn around and lie more to get pitty form you, like if they got caught cheating on you with another girl who didn't even know you existed and he says something like "the Russians kidnapped my mom and did away with her. her funeral is Tuesday." and the supposedly dead mom just walks into the room disproving the stupid claim. like dawg, you lied to 2 different girls about being single and essentually cheated on them both, lying about your mom dying isn't going to fix this shit.

when people lie about ts I just get so annoyed and I lose all respect for them, online, irl or both. doesn't matter.
