I very personally hate it when people try to use mental illness as an excuse to be an asshole because it just feeds into negative stereotypes about them, like if I see someone flat out abuse their partner, like hitting them and screaming, the whole shebang and they say "it's not my fault! I have borderline personality disorder! and if you blame me, you're the problem. you're just an ablest jerk." like no bro, I just hate it when you actively contribute to the stereotype of people with BPD being violent and aggressive and unloveable, fucking own up to your mistakes and stop using a diagnosis as an excuse to hurt people.

I really do hate it when people will try to use a group or a label to make said group/label look bad or as an excuse, like, it's a very passionate hate for me and I just wish people would stop because it really does affect how people view these groups, like with the BPD example, or if someone is like "i'm LGBT" after doing something terrible, it'll make people preceve the LGBT group in a negative light, which some people genuinely want and is the point, to inspire hate in others.
