i have so far planned on replacing the shell, giving it a bigger battery and a usb c mod, though the bigger battery requires sacrificing the disc drive. but the usb c mod does not use its data pins, so i had a idea: why not make the disc drive external? i can convert the disc drives multiple signals into one and then send it over the usb c's data pins, then convert it back into its separate signals and back into the disc drive's connector
