For me, it's Spectre from Yu-Gi-Oh! VRains. The way the writers make him really seem psychopathic and a masochist is interesting, his deck and strategies are unique, and him being the first one to create the Ultimate Extra Link is mind boggling. If only he had more time to shine. He was carrying that show.
Honorable mentions would be Fugo and Jolyne, both from JoJo.

ik i already answered but i just finished kami sama kiss and while nanami had her moments where she was annoying i actually find he really endearing and i like how the story treats her like a real human girl, imperfections and all and the last episode being abt her past actually made me wanna cry, alot of anime fans hate on all teen female protagonist who arent badass and 'tough' so naturally nanami gets alot of hate but shes honestly my fav anime protag rn
