we're def carrying over the adding custom bookmarks from switchbru right?
-
@VGMoose can Nintendo Mods See Our Search History
-
do they have to have a Switchbru DNS Account
-
no for Nintendo / Switchbru Mods To See History
-
does that user have to have a Switchbru DNS User
-
@pwsincd They're asking about DNS search history, as in, within the hidden browser, and no DNS as a protocol does not allow us to view the specific pages that are fetched due to most sites using HTTPS. This can be confirmed by pushing Plus on the browser to see if the HTTPS certificate is enabled.
If a DNS server is untrustworthy, it can perform what's called a man-in-the-middle attack where it strips the HTTPS from the website to snoop on pages, but we don't do this!

@lollapalooza Definitely, but want to also have a set of common defaults.
Like the "useful links" page here: https://dns.switchbru.com
Probably will need some switch-compatible games, and sites that work well on switch, like old reddit or ao3

@IaMwEiRd To clarify we have no affiliation with Nintendo! The DNS only displays the browser via a redirect.
Moderators of the forum do not have access to DNS queries made through the DNS server, but Server Admins could pull a list of hostnames if they were malicious. We are not storing these DNS resolution queries though, and aren't performing any MITM attacks either. For more on how DNS works, see: https://howdns.works
However, as with any third-party service, there is still an element of trust involved still in using it.
