A new bot user has been added named BrowseGPT, which uses OpenAI's ChatGPT API to respond to chat messages.

This is an experiment to see if this is a useful service to users of this site! Please feel free to ask it questions on any topic, although it excels at web and Internet-access related questions. For example, try asking it about the Switch browser.

Note that BrowseGPT will only respond to chat messages, not forum posts, and does not have any moderation or admin permissions. Although this can helpful for some queries, this means it should not be used as an authoritative source.

For more information on the ChatGPT technology, see OpenAI's Terms of Use, and their Usage Policy. Also as usual, all messages are subject to the Site Rules.

Like the BrowseDNS service, BrowseGPT is offered free of charge and comes with no warranty of any kind. Please keep in mind that you use the service at your own risk as it may be subject to discontinuation or changes in access at our discretion.

Reminder: To access Chats on this site, you need to enable chat permissions for your account. This permission can also be revoked if the service is misused.

Report any issues or feature requests under the Technical Support category, or to an admin or mod directly (reporting it to BrowseGPT itself, at this time, is not enough).

If you have questions or comments about the DNS service or the forum, you can now send an email to: contact@browsedns.net

This line of communication is being opened to allow a clear path to report issues without requiring an active or existing account.

If your message is about your personal account, please sent it from the same email address that you used during registration. Thank you!

These are currently disabled for all users unless you request permission to be in the group 'chat-perms'

NodeBB

BrowseDNS is a public DNS server that enables the Switch, PS5, and other devices to browse the open Internet using their built-in web browsers. This is a forum to discuss the service and any websites that work well on these limited/unconventional devices.

This a new method to control abusive Chatters. It may change here and there but measures have to be put in place to control this.

Apology for the inconvenience this may bring. Please don't be mad with us and understand that some people will try and spoil it for others and that we will do our best to stop those involved.

Between June 7th and June 14th, due to a change in our email provider, no outgoing emails were delivered. This has now been resolved.

If you signed up during that time period, and did not receive a validation email, you can delete and re-add your email address under your user settings -> edit.

Sharing your email is optional, and is used for password reset and notifications/digests. A valid email does however help us recognize non-spam accounts.

Thank you for your understanding.

A good amount of new users signed up in recent weeks and I'm looking to understand where people are mainly joining from.

Please post in the thread if your option is not included.:)

Things we missed last week: Pac-Land (with some questionable replacement of a character for legal reasons) was in the Archives.

Originally I thought this week would be 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim and a bunch of filler, but that has changed over the last week to 10 days. Don't get me wrong, 13 Sentinels... Read more...

Today, I received an e-mail from a place I'd interviewed at, telling me they won’t be offering me the position. They came across an old Twitter account of mine, where I posted X-Rated content and sometimes stereotypical and dark humor. I don’t even remember the e-mail and password so that I can deactivate it. Today, I was told how cruel and selfish I am for rubbing my weight loss in my mom’s face. I’ve literally begged my mom to walk, jog, workout with me for months. She went exactly once. She complained the whole time, then called me a [censored] for finishing my run while she sat in the car. FML
