he has my hair and skin tone and plumper (tho his are very exaggerated...) lips and lowkey acts like a afro-puerto rican guy and looks hispanic-latino to me
smth i idk dont like abt bein mixed is that i dont look exactly like a black girl but Hispanic-latino (when i say Hispanic-latino i dont mean hispanic OR latino i mean cultures that are actively both like Puerto ricans bc hispanics are just white TvT) rep fits me even LESS bc its always someone with loose curls or straight hair and European nose and alot of mixed blk girls in media dont have afro hair which for me is my blackest feature
so yeah i feel like the mixed blk girl representation only potrays the whitest looking mixed ppl:/
usoop literallyyyyyyyy would be such good afro -hispanic-latino rep and i feel like jus making him black in recent adaptations is actually lazy and sucks for ppl like me who feel connected to his design bc of his mixed-seeming features:/
and oda saying his nationality would be 'africa' (whole ahh continent btw....) is incredibly lazy and like such a missed opportunity bc puerto rico would fit him WAYYYY more
i actually dont even watch one piece much but i still feel rlly connected to his design and i just got some volumes of the manga, im gonna watch the lego one piece movie just for usopp!
i get why some ppl mind tho, theres a thin line between acknowledging someone being attractive and checking someone out/cheating
