elden ring infodump

ok so it all starts with the greater will and the lands between. the greater will is mad that the people of the lands between are not worshipping it so he hurls a meteor containing the elden beast and the elden ring. (also metyr i think) the greater will, through one of its vessels called the two fingers chooses queen marika as the first empyrean, and bears the elden ring. during this time he also gets a wolf named maliketh, which mrika gives the rune of death, an aspect of the elden ring, to guard with his life. without that crucial aspect of the elden ring, nothing can die (except demigods with shards of the elden ring). during her rule, marika marries a barbarian named horah loux, who changed his identity to godfrey, containing his barbaric self in a soul call serosh. godfrey and marika would give birth to 3 children mohg, morgott, and godwyn. mohg and morgott were omens, and cast into the sewers beneath leyendell, the capital city. godfrey, along with his son godwyn, would fight a war against the giants and the ancient dragons, the ancient dragons of which were the formor elden lords (the dragon king placidusax) during these wars, godwyn would befriend a dragon named fortisaxx. eventually marika would also fight her own war, but only kind of. she sent a warrior named radagon, who is the same perso as marika but a guy. radagon would lead a crusade on the carian royal family, whch would end with radagon marrying renalla, the carian queen. radagon and renalla would have 3 more children, being ranni, radahn, and rykard. radahn would become a legendary warrior weilding gravity magic, rykard would inherit a castle in mount gelmir, and ranni would be chosen as the next empyrean

going back to marika, she decides to leave her current husband, godfrey, and also have radagon leave renalla, because after all you can only really trust yourself...or can you? so once that all happens, renalla is left with this golden egg which puts her into this semi concious state where shes constantly fixated on this egg, so much so that ranni has to cast a projection in her bossfight to save her. speaking of ranni, during this time were marika and radagon were getting together, she was plotting with a group of assasins who would come to be called the black knives. before their plan went into motion however, radagon and marika had two more children, the final two empyreans, malenia, blade of miquella, and miquella the kind. however because radagon and marika are THE SAME PERSON, they came out a little weird. malenia was eternally afflicted by a disease called the scarlet rot, and miquella was cursed with eternal youth, never to reach full godhood as he was intended to. malenia and miquella balanced eachother out, miquella stalled the rot to find a cure, and malenia fought miquellas battles for him, becoming one of the strongest and most legendary warriors of the shattering. now back to ranni, ranni plotted with the black knives to steal the shard of the elden ring tat was given to maliketh, and use it to "kill" godwyn the golden. they would successfully do this, and carve th rune of death int godwyn, putting him between life in death in an eternal cycle. the anguish from her son's death was too great to bear for marika and she shattered the elden ring, beginning the shattering war, were many warriors influenced by outer gods, some by their own will fought for shards of the elden ring. then you come in to fix everything :) (RIP AND TEAR UNTIL IT IS DONE)

expanding on other characters, starting with the dragons, placidusax was the former elden lord, even before marika, and had his own form of the greater will. a sculpture inside of malikeths arena even implies that the elden ring looked different in the era if dragons. the dragons ruled over the floating city of farum azula with little to no problems until the birth of bayle the dread. (CURSE YOU BAYLE I HEARBY VOW YOU WILL RUE THIS DAY BEHOLD A TRUE DRAKE WARRIOR AND I IGON SOLID OF SCALE YOU MIGHT BE FOUL DRAGON BUT I WILL RIDDLE WITH HOLES YOUR ROTTEN HIDE WITH A HAIL OF HARPOONS WITH EVERY LAST DROP OF MY BEING) bayle the dread was the progenitor of the modern dragons. pretty much their father. bayle and placidusax didnt get along very well because he was a modern dragon, lacking the stone scales that made the ancent dragons immortal. bayle led a tyrannical seige of farum azula whoch ended in a stalemate, with bayle retreating to the land of shadow, and placidusax remaining in farum azula. placidusax would create th dragon cult to hunt down bayles kin and devour their hearts for power. but none could slay the dreaded one. not even the dragon lord himself.
