@Apollo.Is.Silly my weather only gets bad during hurricane season or flood times and tbh i dont really mind the heat unless the ac is out once ours was broken and swear on my life my bed sheets were so hot it felt like they came out the dryer our house insulation is non existent since this was my grandparents house made wayyyy back in the day cant really repair it unless we tear the whole thing down its a big ass house but extremely hard too cool and heat when its like 80 degrees outside its 100 inside T_T we had to sleep in the car to stay cool hmmm i think im yapping but i really enjoy our weather unless its extremely hot or hurricane time

@Gabii zero so far because i dont dress like one but where i live you do see cowboys walking around with guns on their hips and large cowboy hats on, you might even see a person riding a horse down the road or a tractor alot of my cousins and uncles own horses if i dressed more like a cowgirl i'd probably be seen as one we do have like cowboy/cowgirl convenient type things sometimes

@Gabii also unless a festival or concert is happening i dont really see alot of tourist you may see some at the welcome center or ranger park? (forgot what its called) State park! but other than that most of my tourist experiences was talking to someone in a store asking where an item was cause the were from so and so and just passing through i live outside city limits though deep in the woods and rarely get out since covid i have an auto immune disease Graves hyper thyroid and TED (thyroid eye disease) and cause of that even though im growner than a mf my mother wont really let me leave the house often out of fear i will get sick and die :skulll: but i bet if i got out more i would meet more tourist i hope this year i can get out and soon i plan to move tf out pray for me fr

@AllVanster Ayeeeeeee another native!!! also imma just say my parish cause i dont care for my safety lmao in Amite City Tangipoha Parish the schooling sucks! i only ever went to school in Texas until the 3rd grade i flunked 3rd grade then became homeschooled my mom almost put me in school down here but realized they aint teaching nothing fr for example my cousin graduated with honors top of the class got to college and realized they didn't know anything because highschool nor elementary taught them anything valuable it was really just a place they went to do activities :/

@Enchanted yeah i agree with that, my general experience is that school here is only decent if you're a student in a private school, and even then you're dealing with half the school being white cishet men whose only personality trait is some sport. The school system is also just genuinely really corrupt? my mom had to sue them because they defamed her after she got injured working there, AND the vice principal of my elementary school got arrested for assaulting someone. so thats fun

What do you think about mardi gras? i personally think its a decent enough novelty but it feels more and more like a waste of time every year

@AllVanster ive only celebrated it maybe 3 times as a child, my family is Christian and although they celebrate it my mother stopped us from being able too because its a "pagan" holiday or whatever i think in small towns its okay to do the whole shabang there is a problem with the left over decor/litter though, and i do agree its kinda a waste of money...my main problem with mardi gras is New Orleans i feel like everybody else in Louisiana can celebrate it safety but NOLA they dont know how to act and i feel bad saying it but my family jokes and calls New Orleans Sin City everytime an event happens down there somebody is either getting drunk, shot at or killed i wont step foot down there if its mardi gras or superbowl, every year no exaggeration for mardi gras we have gotten a call saying how someone we knew died down there or got in a fight one year i had a cousin who never got in any trouble and was a good kid, get drunk and run some ppl over celebrating carnival aka mardi gras i just stay away from the holiday i like the candy but thats it sorry i yapped and went off topic a bit

@Nared OMG YOUR FROM LOUISIANA???!! why you aint never say and i was scared to try them at first but i think they taste pretty okay but dont ask me about Pig feet, gator balls, frog legs, or pig lips ion eff with that and i think its disgusting
