Apuntes (notes): SER, ESTAR, and SUBJECT PRONOUNS

Pronouns replace nouns, for example, "it" can replace any object or item. Subject pronouns are used to refer to a subject of the sentence. Look at this example in English:
Holly went to the movies. Holly ate popcorn. Holly got home really late.
In that sentence, there are no subject pronouns, because I just repeated Holly's name, but it is repetitive. Pronouns are used to help avoid repetitiveness and to shorten communication.
Holly went to the movies. She ate popcorn. She got home really late.
See how much better that sounds when we use the subject pronoun "she" to replace Holly?
Here are the subject pronouns in Spanish.
