Shaun grew up where the map erased itself at the edge of a magic-won forest that signed their life with quiet rules: lave the trees be and the trees would leave them sane. That family shattered one night. Bandits broke the laws that they had followed so well. Took everything that made him human. He was a child then, hands frozen in time. Years later he walks the land like a shado2, trading safety for sensation for anything. Searching for a pulse an idea that will prove he still exists. Something that can truly make him feel again.
