Puerto Ricans we never supposed to be American
-
Despite Puerto Ricans being seen as American citizens, Puerto Ricans who actually live in Puerto Rico do not have the right to vote. People in Alaska can vote, and even Hawaiians in Hawaii can vote, but Puerto Ricans on the island of Puerto Rico cannot. Do you know when Puerto Ricans were officially considered US citizens? During World War One. So they could be drafted, fresh meat for the front lines. I have more to say on this topic but that’s all for now. What are y’all’s thoughts?

I made an error, Puerto Ricans are not 'seen' as American citizens, they ARE American citizens, with American rights, and being born on the island makes you an American. Even if Puerto Rico is a 'common wealth', i feel like if living there makes you a American citizen, they should absolutely be allowed to vote. idk how most Puerto ricans in Puerto rico feel abt becoming a state, but i think they would be better off as a state then going independent but thats just my take
