Stingless bees are pretty interesting. Rather than being one species, stingless bee is actually a family of around 500 different bee species. Stingless bees are closely related to honey bees and bumblebees. They get their name from their stingers not being a high-quality defense tool. Instead, stingless bees can bite. Very painfully. A lot of stingless bees can produce honey like honeybees do, but not all of them.
