    The app Krita is a nice alternative to Photoshop for making digital art. It can be downloaded here for Mac/Windows/Linux.

    I started learning how to use Photoshop in school, but it was always frustrating to come home and be unable to use it for other stuff, and being stuck with MS Paint or Preview. The school had a license deal, and I would've had to pay for it for my own use. Later I did pay for Photoshop for a while, but now I just use this instead!

    A starting tutorial is here: https://docs.krita.org/en/tutorials.html But a fair amount of basic Photoshop-style stuff works, such as dealing with layers and blending options.

                  I have some digital art-pieces that I've drawn on my laptop with the touchscreen and stylus.

                    @VGMoose I must say,the interface might be daunting for beginners so,hi beginners,I'm a random internet so-called expert and I say art beginners should use sketchbook (not pro its annoying get the other one off the ms store) because its simple.
                    Personally,I quite like the sound of Krita but I've heard its resource-hungry.

                      It's true, I haven't actually used any of the more drawing focused features, just as a Photoshop replacement. For tablet drawing I usually use Procreate on an old iPad with a stylus.

                        @VGMoose
                        I use GIMP mainly bc its FOSS and when I learn anything C-related I could make a fork to put on my github so its less boring.
