The browser does the same thing on the normal captive portal-When I connected with my guest net, which requires captive portal approval, I left it run without tapping "Agree and approve sign in to: ClownFish Switch" and after 20 minutes it closed itself. This info should help!

every time i try to watch a video it says this feature is not available im just wondering why that happened. i dont know how to fix it.
@daniel-johnson Videos may not work because
- The "portal browser" on the switch wasn't built to play videos
- Nintendo restricts this feature [Can't you use Youtube?]

Guessing that you are talking about me. I am Jri-creator, and I know some info about browsers.

Be careful with the Nintendo Switch update, when my Nintendo Switch updated, it caused the browser timeout to change to 10 minutes, and it closed without warning.
-
Help me out! Even though there is a petition going on, Nintendo may not pay attention to one source. I have created a StrawPoll to determine if Nintendo should release the Web Browser [NintenBrowser] If I get enough votes before 12/25/23, I will release the info to Nintendo. Link to vote: https://strawpoll.com/polls/X3nk4q70YgE Please vote Yes! Jri-creator

@jricreator no abt @son
-
I'm not against nintendo, But please stop the timeout. I was on my favorite app then it closed please stop it.
-
Man, that's good and somewhat not good
-
I also tested sleep (not in those logs), the network requests just stop and resume after waking the device. (Which is why counting them to know how "soon" until the timeout seems doable.)
-
@VGMoose The reason why the time is delayed & pings stop is because the internet chip is powered off while the switch is asleep
@jricreator idk if thats true because you can still download updates in sleep mode
-
@jricreator idk if thats true because you can still download updates in sleep mode
@Kurupa Thats IF the switch is told by the NintenServer to keep network chip running for the update or other required connection
-
welcome
