As the years passed, the gap between Kael and his family grew wider. Unlike his siblings, who seemed to thrive on their parents' affection, Kael faced hate. Although his family tried to support him, their love was mixed with fear of what he might become. On the day he finally left Eldergrove, he took with him their rejection, the hate he felt clinging to him with very step.
