Satanism is about empathy and individuality and justice. It has seven guiding tenets as our moral guide, meant to inspire courageous action and promote integrity and protest against even the highest powers. We advocate for equal rights for EVERYONE, the freedom of expression, and for the highest degree of justice for those who have been wronged.
Our tenets are!:
I. One should strive to act with compassion and empathy toward all creatures in accordance with reason.
We do not advocate for utter and complete forgiveness just because someone asks for it. If someone has truly wronged someone else, you are not required by divine law to forgive them. That is a toxic relationship with both life and religion.
II. The struggle for justice is an ongoing and necessary pursuit that should prevail over laws and institutions.
Justice and equality is one of the highest standards of modern-day Satanism. This is my personal opinion, but equality would be one step closer to world peace.
III. One’s body is inviolable, subject to one’s own will alone.
It's someone else's body! Why do you care what they're doing with it? Why should we restrict what they're able to do with their body based off of religious dogma?
IV. The freedoms of others should be respected, including the freedom to offend. To willfully and unjustly encroach upon the freedoms of another is to forgo one's own.
Offense is a right, not a privilege. Not something the kings and queens of our societies should be protected against. Deliberately restricting, or not acknowledging the rights of someone else's forfeits and restricts your own (at least until rectified, imo).
V. Beliefs should conform to one's best scientific understanding of the world. One should take care never to distort scientific facts to fit one's beliefs.
Pseudoscience... that's really all i have to say on this one
VI. People are fallible. If one makes a mistake, one should do one's best to rectify it and resolve any harm that might have been caused.
It is on YOU to fix your wrongdoings, not the people around you. Do whatever you can to fix your mistakes, no matter how small or big, and fix any harm you could've caused. Own up to your mistakes, fix your mistakes, and move on.
VII. Every tenet is a guiding principle designed to inspire nobility in action and thought. The spirit of compassion, wisdom, and justice should always prevail over the written or spoken word.
