You can play it on newgrounds here but the audio didn't work for me and it requires the internet.

You can download the .swf file from sm63 through this link: https://web.archive.org/web/20160408184019oe_/http://runouw.com/games/sm63/sm63game.swf
you then need to get the ruffle emulator that you can download on their site https://ruffle.rs/, you can even get it as an extension for chrome, if that fancys you more.

Now extract the .targz file of the ruffle emulator and just follow the instructions on the readme file, it has a redirect to a site were you just need to select the downloaded .swf file and it will start,

but if you want it to work offline you need to do the command thing with terminal and everything and then it should work, just follow the instructions you'll be fine.

If you want to play other flash game you need to find the download link, which can be found through the wayback machine, but you need to to do a cbx search on the wayback machine site, which i don't know how to do so just ask google.

Ruffle doesn't support every flash game so if it doesn't work find another flash emulator and try that.

@dafunkymonke the syntax of gdscript is very similar to pythons and it's also fairly easy to read like python, and godot also supports C++ and C#, they are also interchangable in one project, you can write one script in C# another in gescript and another in C++ and even call a script in C# through a script in gdscript, same with C++ and since godot is open-source you can download community projects from sites like github that makes godot support other coding languages like python, ruby, rust etc.

I'd advise you to off start as a indie dev and do some smaller projects since that gives you more experience and it's more likely that a company will hire you, (and who knows? maybe you end up starting your own company) just be careful what company you join as some companys like to treat devs badly like you prob already know.

If you want to do a bigger project but don't have the money, kickstarter is great for that, the team for crowsworn (a hollow knight inspired game) got 1 mio from kickstarter which is way above the funding goal, but if you start as a indie dev be sure to have another way to get money as being an unknown indie dev isn't really profitable.

Ive tried changing my pfp via manually typing in a URL instead of the image search option to try if images outside of image search work. (im on switch so the file option doesnt work)
