Happy Mardi Gras!!

It's Mardi Gras and I wanted to wish everyone a happy one since not a lot of people know about it. We celebrate by having king cake (a cinnamon roll cake filled with cream cheese or other fillings), Parades where we throw candy and dance and sing to Zydeco music, serve our cultures foods and host chicken runs (where you chase a chicken in a race and try to catch it). Mardi gras beads and masquerade masks are also used during this holiday. From my knowledge, it started in my culture as a way to take from the rich and give to the poor, via catching chickens and giving them to the poor, but we have come a long way since then. There are also other places that celebrate this holiday, and some in a different way and reason too, but this is what Mardi Gras means to me, what does Mardi Gras mean to you?

Mardi Gras means pancake day to me, widely celebrated by having Pancakes for dinner here in the UK. Mardi Gras means fat day in french (According to YT)

@Aries Yess its the start before Lent, via Fat Tuesday since my culture is Cajun Creole we are Catholic dominant!
