@_Izzy_ is it an issue of it needing verification (like, my friend has my main email so he'd need to authorize my device b4 i can get into it.) or are you accessing the regular gmall? the mobile version is compact enough to be used on switch easily whereas the regular port is too big to be run on switch. if this isnt the issue, idk what is or how to fix it

not sure of any client that can handle the exact needs of the switch. from the list of email providers i made a while back as part of resource center, eclipsomail was filled with ads and kinda slow. gmail mobile wasnt reliable for all users. honestly i might just make my own for the community. ideally have it lightweight and capable of supporting the switch, with user options to select different smtp pproviders to login to existing accounts (on gmail, outlook etc) or a way to create an email somehow. not sure on the email creation part, i dont wanna host an smtp server myself and ill need some time to figure smth out
anywae yea so far, no good suggestions unless i make the custom webmail

@maple I've thought about doing something like this, but running your own web mail seems difficult due to spam filters and other modern-day limitations. Let me know if you do pursue it. Some related reading: https://mailtrap.io/blog/email-hosting/
To underscore how difficult it might be, many hosting providers even explicitly block outgoing SMTP ports (25, 465, 587). It might not be possible to have a web client alone circumvent that with existing providers, but it would be interesting.
Maybe it'd be easier to try and get Switch support eg. in ProtonMail, if their web UI is open source, after debugging specifically where it breaks.

@VGMoose ya ive been reading a lot about it. i agree i think itd be much easier to make like a lightweight webmail client that uses a third party's smtp servers. i got a new vps and have been testing around different things and lyk if i get something going
