I think we should just ban the topic of religion on BDNS entirely. It's prominent that some folks have pretty brazen or strong opinions about certain religions, and tend scrutinize/joke about others due to their belief systems. Hell, some have even gotten offended by the topic in and of itself.
I DO still infact think we should be allowed to showcase our religions through a community/bio/PFPs, just to let others know before interacting. I just don't think it's appropriate to discuss such things in a forum such as BDNS since it is considered a safe space for EVERYONE and some might take your words of religion the wrong way. I don't think anyone intends any harm, but it's leading to scrutiny. People may misinterpret your "spreading" as "forcing", which leads to ANOTHER issue.
Everyone has a right to their belief and no one has a right to judge them. But in which case someone DOES judge you, it's probably best to keep your thoughts to yourself. It's better you spread awareness through more appropriate sites/places.
