As we get ready to celebrate the Fourth of July,
I thought it'd be cool to share some interesting and funny facts
about America's Independence Day!1.Did you know? The Declaration of Independence was actually signed on July 2nd, 1776 not the 4th! The July 4th date is when it was officially adopted and printed. Talk about paperwork delay!
2.Fireworks Galore: The tradition of fireworks started because they believed loud bangs would scare away evil spirits. Who knew we were celebrating with a little ancient "spirit security" system?
3.Hot Dog Phenomenon: Americans eat about 150 million hot dogs on the Fourth of July! Thats enough to stretch from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles... twice! Hopefully, you're not alone eating that many!
4.Congress' Sneaky Naming: The phrase "Fourth of July" was first popularized by none other than an early writer who simply loved that catchy title. Sometimes history is just good branding!
So next time you fire up those grill flames or watch the fireworks sparkle, remember you're part of a tradition full of history, laughs, and lots of patriotism.
