BrowseDNS is dying.

bruh

so are you saying whats currently being post is bad? against the current state of this site?
@Party_Poison no, im saying that there needs to be more discipline in what gets posted. the problem with bdns right now isnt whats being posted, its just how frequent it is. obviously we all need an outlet to be weird/silly but thats been the predominantly only thing on BDNS for a good year at least. im not asking for a full eradication of what people are already posting, im asking for balance

@orbital I dont post that often

honestly, i feel like forums are dying, ngl, if 4chan worked ok on the switch i'd just use that.
i think bc it's a 13+ site and the people on here are young they don't understand the concept of a forum. plus, bc its a +13 site, users of forums that actually still exist probably wouldn't touch it bc what they would like to post about might be banned asap. i mean..... You've seen what comes outta 4chan. i don't think this is gonna fix the issue. at the end of the day, everything keeps changing.
i made a post talking about censorship fails online last night, i do see similaritys between my point and this, but i was mostly sharing my obeservatoins on my matter.
i am not exactly sure how to fix this, or if we even can, but what i do know is a lotta peeps on here just treat this like regular social media@Yanderemenhera I think this is the problem in general. everybody who uses this site just treats it as if it's facebook or something (except I believe that facebook is prolly more structured). overall your right, I think people don't treat this as a forum, more just social media for the switch. which makes sense, because the amount of switch users on here that prolly don't have access to social media elsewhere is pretty high. overall we do need a reform, and I'd be very happy to see this site actually host cordial debates and for people to talk about what inspires them.

@Party_Poison I see, well with this site being in the nature of a forum, it's also not a bad place to talk about coding. and plus, many people can't actually use a dev group because of the switch (I can't, and I very much appreciate when people talk abt coding on here)

They have been saying facebook has been dying but it still has millions of users a day so i dont think browsedns is struggling as much as you may think. The people who post on here are lovley people and their oppoins and intrests are not only valid but intresting.Browsedns is not dying it just isnt a website that has billions of jerks on it all day like browsedns's counterparts. While yes there tends to be younger people on here all that means is this website is safe and diverse in its people.I am 16 and compered to othere websites to have conversatoins i prefer this one.The fact that there is less people means its eaiser to hold people accountable.Instead of browsedns feeling like socail media its a community and family. :)

@LadySkater although still true i find that perspective to be a little shortsighted. from what ive observed from bdns over the 2 years ive been on this platform is that when users share their interests and hobbies to an active extent activity stretches across the board, not just the same group of repeat users but new users are also retained for longer, but as of recently accounts have just been made and discarded like wildfire. it's hard to get into a community when it's all tight-knit and inside references that anyone outside might not understand. however, returning to my original point, when creativity degrades, so does userbase, and thats definitely been happening lately, as it has in the past. there's always a brief bounceback, but i think that it's much more reasonable to make a little change to ensure we're always able to ride that 'high' of activity and engagement, rather than cycling through it

genuinely. i never really liked this site to begin with. i just didnt have a phone

but I'm glad there are ppl who want to make it a better place! -

@orbital exactly, this is a very good point in general. especialy regarding the amount of accounts being made and not really used. genuine discussion about interesting topics will enevitely keep users ingaged. it is also true that plenty of people might feel like its too hard to fit in here/understand all of the inside references, but I think that would change if the discussions were more meaningful. overall though, your point is valid, and if we did actually make the changes browsedns would be a lot better for it.
