post queue discussion

Look. I agree with you here. This post queue is ridiculous. But it's only temporary hopefully. To be honest. I have no idea why it was put in place. Back when I was just a regular user. There was no queue. But I understand it has a purpose. I do not disagree with you here.

guys this post queue sucks. im going to outline why we should remove it and implement a better solution.
so first, lets cover why it was implemented to begin with. staff said its because theres many unconstructive posts and that it may discourage users from interacting.
that may be true to an extent - but what else will discourage users from interacting? restricting their ability to post. thats the whole point of a forum, to limit that is to limit the activity of this forum.
i dont believe the root cause of this forum inactivity is unconstructive posts. i think the root cause is constructive post incentives. think about it - if the forum has unconstructive posts without anyone incentivized to make constructive posts, what will happen when unconstructive posts are restricted and only constructive posts are allowed, yet still no incentives to make constructive posts in the first place?
the forum will die. thats what will happen. the root cause of this inactivity is the lack of incentive for a "constructive" discussion.so how do we fix this?
frankly, i dont know. its tough to incentivize people into having a genuine discussion regarding a constructive topic. but even though i dont know how to fix it, i know that this isnt the right solution.staff, please remove the post queue or at least try to fix the root cause.
if you disagree, please let me know why, i genuinely want to learn and try to contribute to this forum.@maple I agree so much... And thankfully it's supposed to be limited for a bit!!! And while it is possible to avoid it.. I think even then it's still gonna end up making this place dead. The only way to avoid the queue is to become vip.. Which I think isn't "beginner friendly" due to the fact one, you either had to be here for at least a month (which obviously isn't possible for new accounts) or be trusted, which obviously how is that possible?? They're new, you don't know them!! It just makes it hard for new people to join in and actually make this place more active. 🥹

I'm taking small steps w/ this at least until we learn what to post and what to not postー of course it is ridiculous, none of us want to approve posts everytime we get online. However, we're working on post quality and getting more engaging content while filtering out what isn't so it is harsh but effective. To be fair, I did give 2 warnings to the whole community before I took action. On the bright side, if all is going to continue how it is going currently with the better post quality that we're getting it should be gone by the end of the week and I will begin working to improve other things that are becoming an ongoing issue to hopefully resolve this to the best of my ability.
I just ask that you're patient with me and that you trust the process, I surely won't disappoint.
Thanks,

Most likely, yes. Eventually I want to add more to this VIP thing but I am searching for plugins/addons that would add to their experience and kind of create a difference between normal users and vip users. Currently I just have perks that fit the environment of the forum.
Hopefully that makes sense.

@Raven Alright, awesome.

The thing is, All moderators can accept or decline posts in post queue. Last night, i accepted over 15(give or take) posts in a timely manner. Also considering, there are mods with different time zones so if im not on/asleep, they can accept or decline and vice versa.
In my honest opinion, the post queue is great. Firstly, we can stop drama and fights before it even starts/makes it to an actual post. It can also prevent inappropriate content from being shown.

@Apollo.Is.Silly Yeah, I completely agree.
To add, i've seen plenty of people complaining about drama, this prevents the majority of it! I feel like people will always find ways to complain about BDNS but we're trying our absolute hardest to fix it
