I gave myself a tattoo...

So last night I was doing my routinely doom scrolling when I saw this stick and poke tutorial, where basically you get a needle and you dip it in ink, then keep on poking yourself with it until it stays. So ofc I decide to try it with pen ink and a sewing needle... tbf it didn't really hurt as much as anticipated and kinda went numb after a while. But most of it didn't really stay so now I have a random + on the side of my wrist and i'm really scared it might get infected or I'm gonna get sepsis. Has anyone done this before or know someone who has?

There's a 98% percent chance that you'll regret it, but uhhh... What'd you even make a tattoo of??
I think as long as you sanitized the needle..moderately well, you should be fine. Or, as long as your immune system is good. There's a slight chance of possible skin cancer, but it might be worth it 🥹

i had a metal snowflake i heated it up with a lighter and pressed it firmly into my skin for like 5 seconds a few times, did not really work well. i'd say chances are it'll get infected but nothing life threateningtb
h. stuff like that usually heals up completely within a few months and itll've been pointless

this isnt a good idea, reason i say that is, it will fade pretty damn fast for 1. for 2. you will probably get a mild infection. nothing that'll put ya in danger but something that might give you the ick to look at

@Aries yeah, you'll probably be fine, but this will fade away in a bit. my snowflake "tattoo" lasted a few months but it eventually faded into a generic scar

@Aries I have a 19 year old sibling who didn’t do this from fear of infection, as a bit of information. Hopefully everything (needle, area of tattoo) was sanitized, as I’ve seen said by others, but really it’s not at all a good idea to just act on something like that without extensive thought.
Hopefully you learn from this experience, without going through anything too bad.
