@VGMoose said in hold up, i think i figured out how to fix ''this feature is unavailable'':
Big if true! That sounds very promising, and I'll recommend it to others / try it if it happens to me. If it continues to work, we can add a notice to the BDNS landing page as well.
including detailed instructions on how to do it (with pictures)
@KiwiFarmsArkavel watch a youtube tutorial on how to access facebook, after you get on facebook, exit it and then change your dns settings to 45.55.112.11 and connect to the Internet

bro yall realize when the 'this feature is not available' thing shows up you can just change your dns to normal, connect to the wifi, then watch a vid on the nintendo news right....?
for me when i watch a vid the first time it will still say the feature is unavailable, then i wait like 10 secs and try to watch it again and the vid will work, and then you will be able to use the browser (you dont need to actually watch the video, the vid playing just means the browser will work again now) -

@_Izzy_ no, i'd watch youtube or change my dns to automatic or 8.8.8.8 and that did not get it it to come back, i also dont know if every switch can still use facebook or if mine is literally just that old

@VGMoose i think yall might wana look into the method of just watching a vid on the nintendo news aswell bc its simpler

So it sounds like:
- Set DNS to automatic, or to Google DNS (8.8.8.8)
- Watch a video in the News app, or open Facebook via the Album share applet
- Set the DNS back to one of the BrowseDNS addresses
I haven't had the issue in a while, any ideas on what causes the problem in the first place? Eg. not being docked or being offline for too long?

genuinely no clue, but this seems to fix it

use the scientific theory and experiment with your hypothesis

@VGMoose for the nintendo news vid the first time you start the vid the 'this feature is unavailable' thing will show up, then you have to leave the vid, wait like 10 full seconds, try to watch it again, and when the vid loads the browser will work
i actually JUST had the issue before logging on lol -

I got the "Feature is not available" screen with the DNS yesterday on my Switch 2, and can confirm that starting to watch a video (w/o the DNS) in the News applet removed it!
Switch 2 has no Facebook applet, so I didn't get to try that yet. Either way, this isn't common knowledge, so we'll update the landing page to display some info about this workaround. It's often mentioned as an issue on the feedback form.
Thanks @Yanderemenhera and @_Izzy_! And to @KiwiFarmsArkavel / others reading this thread, let me know if these workarounds work for you as well next time the error comes up.
