(Author's note, I don't know why the hell I made this.)

    BASED OFF OF BSD.

The rain had been falling over Yokohama for hours.

    Chuuya hated rain.

Not because it bothered him—he'd never admit something so pathetic—but because it made the city look empty.

The streets were quiet. The lights reflected off puddles. Even the Port Mafia headquarters seemed calmer than usual.

Which was exactly why he should have known something was wrong.

A familiar voice echoed behind him.

    "Chuuuya~"

    He froze.

    "No."

    "Chuuuya."

    "No."

    "Chuuuuya."

    The redhead turned around slowly.

"There is absolutely no way I'm dealing with you tonight."

Standing under a black umbrella was Dazai, grinning like he'd just committed a crime.

Which, statistically speaking, He probably had.

    "You wound me."

    "I can fix that."

    "You say the sweetest things."

Chuuya groaned and started walking away.

    The sound of footsteps followed.

    Then more footsteps.

Then the unmistakable feeling of being followed by a human-shaped disaster.

    "Go away."

    "No."

    "Dazai."

    "No."

    "Dazai."

    "No."

    He stopped and spun around.

    "What do you want?!"

For once, He didn't answer immediately.

The smile remained, but it softened.

    "Nothing."

    That caught him off guard.

Dazai wanting nothing was somehow more suspicious than Dazai wanting something.

    "...You're lying."

    "A little."

    "There it is."

    He laughed quietly.

The rain continued to fall around them.

    Finally, Dazai shrugged.

    "I got bored."

"That sounds like a you problem."

    "It is."

    "And?"

"So I wanted to spend time with you."

The words landed with surprising force.

    Chuuya stared.

    Dazai looked away.

    Which was somehow even stranger.

Most people never noticed it, but whenever he was being honest, he stopped making eye contact.

It was one of the few tells he had.

The realization made something warm settle in Chuuya's chest.

Unfortunately, he had a reputation to maintain.

    So he rolled his eyes.

    "That's stupid."

    "I know."

"You crossed half the city because you were bored?"

    "Maybe."

    "You're insane."

    "Probably."

A small silence passed between them.

    Then Chuuya sighed.

The dramatic, exhausted sigh of a man accepting his fate.

    "Fine."

    Dazai blinked.

    "Fine?"

    "Fine."

    "You're agreeing?"

"Don't make me change my mind."

A grin immediately spread across his face.

    Too late.

    He was already regretting it.

An hour later, they were sitting on the roof of an abandoned building overlooking Yokohama Harbor.

    The rain had finally stopped.

    The city lights glittered below.

For once, neither of them had a mission.

    No enemies.

    No paperwork.

    No Mafia politics.

    Just silence.

    Comfortable silence.

The kind neither of them would ever admit they enjoyed.

Dazai rested his chin on his knees.

    "Hey, Chuuya."

    "What."

"If I disappeared one day, would you miss me?"

The question came so casually that it almost sounded like a joke.

    Almost.

    Chuuya didn't answer immediately.

The wind tugged at his coat.

    Finally he scoffed.

    "Obviously."

    Dazai looked surprised.

    "So honest."

    "Don't get used to it."

    His smile returned.

    Smaller this time.

    Real.

    "Good."

The city stretched endlessly before them.

    For a moment neither spoke.

Then Dazai leaned their shoulder against his.

    A tiny movement.

    Barely noticeable.

    But intentional.

    Chuuya felt it.

    Felt the warmth.

    The trust.

The unspoken affection hidden beneath years of arguments and insults.

    He could have moved away.

    He didn't.

    Instead he muttered,

    "You're lucky I tolerate you."

    Dazai laughed.

"That's basically a love confession coming from you."

    "Shut up."

    "Make me."

    "Don't test me."

The grin never left him face.

And despite himself, a small smile appeared on his.

    Just for a second.

Long enough for him to notice.

Long enough for him to regret it.

    "CHUUYA SMILED!"

    "Oh my god, shut up."

His laughter echoed across the rooftops while the lights of Yokohama shone beneath them.

And for one rare, peaceful night, neither of them wanted to be anywhere else.

"I bet that this is what you wanted
I can't believe you got the best of me again
I thought that you were being honest
And now I wish I would'vе never let you in"
