A lot of people on BrowseDNS would say something on the lines of, "My parents are bad at parenting." This would be the case if they are straight up assholes, neglect you, and other vile shit. But with what I've learned in Child Phy, the answer should be more like, "My parents don't understand my perspective."

Try and pretend you have a child, your age, for a second. You are around 40, so you were raised in a time where mentally ill and neurodivergent people weren't fully understood, and put aside; where the internet was something not everyone had. Now, imagine your child laying in bed all day. The first thing you would think of is, "they're just being lazy. Why should I listen to their excuses?" Imagine your child talking to people on the internet. "I'm concerned on who those online friends actually are. Taking away access to this will keep them safe."

You also might be reading this, thinking, I would never think or say that. That's a good mindset. But parents love to assume because they think they know better. Sometimes, they do. Sometimes, they don't. Though sometimes it doesn't matter; everyone hates being wrong. Some people can't accept it.

If your parents understood your struggles, emotions, and reality, they would be amazing at parenting. Sadly, even if you try and tell them, they will probably think you're "overreacting" or being "lazy". Even if you know that's not true, it won't make a difference.

If your parents don't try to understand you, they don't see your perspective. If your parents @buse you, they are horrible parents.

Don't quote me on this, this is just what I've learned so far and could be inaccurate.

Fr, but can I mention smth rq? (Echo typing rn) I remember these times where my parents would fight, I was 9 sitting under a table and my mom threw a plate at my older sister, idk if it had food, and idk if it was glass or plastic. But I remember that so vividly. And this other time my mom got in my face multiple times for talking to an ai. (She now has ChatGPT on her phone ) anyways jst wanted to put smth so jst ignore this :3 -echo
