like, obviously there's over indulgence, and some types of over-indulgence is horrible for your health or for your wallet, but why is doing something like spending 15$ USD on manga once a month frowned upon if the person can afford it and it makes their life worth living?

like for example, someone was talking about great value caffeinated drink mix on Reddit, they enjoyed the taste and it's much more affordable than like monster or Celsius right? someone was like "well, caffeine pills are cheaper, just use caffeine pills." like bro, it's 10 packets for less than $2 USD, my guy that's not super expensive and if a drink mix makes this dude at least a tiny bit happy than why does it matter? I doubt it'll financially ruin him to spend under 2 US dollars every like week and a half and the caffeine content in them is 120mgs, so basically a slightly bigger container of coffee, that amount won't hurt him assuming he's a healthy adult and the caffeine pills would actually have a lot more caffeine so the argument that the caffeine pills are better for his health is stupid.

like the boomer's telling melenials that if they enjoy avacado toast for breakfast they'll never own a home, like, avacado toast isn't even that expensive and they'll likely never own a home anyway and they need to eat so why does it matter if they want to eat it? a loaf of like whole wheat bread is less than $1.50 and an avacado is 50 cents so it's not gonna financially ruin them to eat that for breakfast every day if they really wanted. I know that the boomers are usually being sarcastic when they say the avacado toast thing but some people are being deadass with that argument.

i think people forget that it's the little things that make life worth living and enjoyable, like seriously, telling someone who enjoys collecting second hand squish mallows that if they are poor it's their fault for buying squish mallows is absurd, like if they are legitimately spending rent money or taking out loans or it's an addiction and their house is hoarded, then yeah it's and issue.
but if they go to a thrift store every few weeks with 5 american dollars to look for the perfict squish mallow I doubt that's the reason they are on EBT or WIC.
