ive been in psych wards too and yea i feel u, i was tied up a lot and i even slept tied to the bed, nurses laughed at my scars and some therapists were just cruel for no reason. i dont get flashbacks from the ward but i do from past assault that fucked me up a lot, i usually try to shake it off physically, like i get up, shake my head or talk/vocalize. sometimes i start doing something different, like drawing, organizing, going for a smoke, writing, watching videos etc.
i used to have them more often and i used to get more affected to a very bad and dangerous point, the best i can say is that your mind really evolves if you let it. write about it, talk abt it, don't avoid it. youre not going to forget, you have to confront it and make it part of your past. its hard and not fast but you need to endure and it will slowly stop taking up space in your mind and your life

if you go for black you gotta be really sure cuz it's very hard to remove later if u wanna dye again
