"Don't care. It was your father, said it'll be good for the company."

"You going?"

"No," he said simply, his eyes still avoiding contact with yours.

"Why is that, my dear husband?" You sarcastically spoke, knowing you were confused why he wasn't going. "You aren't going to meet with her again, are you?"

"I am," he stood up, making his way towards you as you sighed. "Who knew you were so smart?"

"You finally spoke," he hummed, placing his book down on the side table. "I do. That's why you're here."

"Why am I here?"

"Because I love you."

You glared at him, his words like venom to your ears. "You mean you're delusional," you scoffed. "You kidnapped me. I haven't been out in weeks. I haven't even seen my family," you quietly mumbled the last part, your voice feeling as if it was about to crumble.
