Also, Pokemon character writing really isn't that good. A lot of the most "charming" characters from pokemon are just not to me... I'm not sure why but to me when you have a character who's biggest personality trait is being a yiff gremlin it gets old fast.
Yu-Gi-Oh! IS a similar show, people have been comparing them since yugioh started.
