Is AI a good tool or should it be left alone?

its good to help you because its a tool but we should not be putting it into our everyday lives

i think its a amazing tool for research and building on ideas but i feel like its too easily excessable and is being used for the wrong reasons, like those brainrot ai videos, deepfakes, and cheating in school (i used Ai for school before but it was so i could learn how to do the math we were learning and i only used it for like two homework assignments and stopped once i understood the math bc i didnt need it anymore, some kids just use it for everything and never learn)

ALSO, generative Ai is actually bad for the environment and uses up alot of FRESH water that we already are running out of and lowkey need to live TvT
imagine all the stupid ai videos out there and ai art and ai generated scripts, each one of those used up real water
i dont consider myself to be full on 'anti-ai' but when i found this out it definitely made me more hesitant to use it and i felt kinda guilty bc i used to use Ai all the time for research and even just plain entertainment
i feel like ai is marketed alot but people fail to educate others on its actual cost and effects
