Unfortunately, the only issue with that is the fact that the edit history only shows in theads/posts, not chat messages.
We fear that someone could say something rule violating and edit the message before a staff member can act on it, so it is only kept on for Global mods. However, in a future NodeBB update where they add it to the chat system, we will most definitely bring it to the forums.

i feel like if they allowed that it could be very easily abused, probably not a good idea

@Biblecampvictim it could still be abused to cause confusion among normal users
just double check what you say before you send it and dont say anything you dont want people to read TvT
if you want to 'edit' it just reply to your own message and correct itthats just my opinion:P

@Raven That would be amazing to have! Someone when I first joined was saying he was saying stuff that violated the rules that could get him banned and then changed it before I could contact someone on staff... He got banned 12 days later after he did that to me.
