I am against Christian beliefs that label LGBTQ+ as blaspheme because of the fact that I find it morally culpable, so I may be biased, but I believe true Christians should not be sickened by a simple color scheme that speaks of people who were born as they are without choice, and who are not causing harm to anyone.

Someone can make a religion that is inherently [censored] or biased in a way, and this belief in “religious freedom” can cover that too.
I accept religious freedom as long as it isn’t stifling the freedom of others.
Everyone deserves freedom as long as it isn’t harmful or oppressive to any other person.

Despite all this, I find this action somewhat unnecessary in general.
What will come of it?
These are just my thoughts.

Yeah I’d say it’s not as much the colors as it is the intention. Not saying people shouldn’t express themselves, just that doing it in a place you know opposes it feels more like stirring the pot than anything. It’s kinda like putting metal music on blast in a library; you know it’s not the place for it, so it feels more like provoking than just expressing yourself. That’s just my opinion as a Christian.

@_Izzy_ Expression is not disrespectful, but intentionally pushing your views in a place where there is the good possibility of someone not wanting to associate with that is. I think it’s just about being mindful of context. Why can’t we keep space for our own beliefs while also respecting others’? Everyone should have the freedom to live how they choose, just like the LG community wants that same freedom for themselves.

@ilovecats2018 i dont consider having some colors around to be pushing views personally. plus yall have church as a space for your beliefs and you can not associate by not buying the stuff or going to the store:P
but i understand why it makes yall uncomfortable, i just dont really feel bad bc its not hurting anyone and its a store, not a church, and your not being forced to interact with the lgbtq stuff:P

if a Christian showed up to a pride parade with a bunch of religious stuff i still wouldn't consider it disrespectful because they arent rlly hurting anyone or pushing anything by just...existing in that space, and no one is FORCED to associate with them

@_Izzy_ ok, hmo, in my defense I had no clue it was a Christian store until last minute, not everything I make is pride related but I do have a decent bit of pride stuff bc I was getting ready for a pride event, and I was tryna test the waters. I have seen a preast in a rainbow outfit preaching love thy neighbor at a pride even, and assuming someone doesn't like something based on religion is actually pretty fucked up of me, but I really wanted to see how that interaction would go, the store owner was actually pretty nice and ether knew and did not care about the bi colors or didn't know. I do feel kinda conflicted as I do live in the bible belt and it can be really [censored] hard to know what's ok and what is NOT. and honestly maybe the store owners would't mind. but its really hard to ask, yk?

@_Izzy_ yeah, and I understand. Not saying that yandere is doing this, but people and big brands were kinda were shoving the lgbt thing down our throats during covid. I don’t want to derail, but this is absolutely something that can’t be dismissed. Like for example: From 2021-2023, The NFL temporarily changed its shield logo into rainbow colors for Pride. ALL 32 teams’ logos were ALSO shown in rainbow versions on social media. That’s all I have to say about this.

well, how do I handle this? stop selling things associated with pride outside of it, (and be the [censored] who assumes they don't like that sort of thing based on religion, witch feels like making assumptions about someone's score on a math test based on what part of the world there from) or do I just do it anyway, and risk offending someone and be the [censored] who doesn't respect religion? I feel like I become a shitty person either way

I mean I’m Catholic (or at least raised that way, still Christian tho) and I’m also LGBTQ. There are plenty of Christians who are LGBTQ or allies. It’s not really disrespectful to Christians as a whole, but some denominations that are against it might see it that way. So yeah, not inherently disrespectful, but still something to be a bit careful with. (I could prob word this better but it’s late =w=)

@Yanderemenhera just do it anyway, its not wrong at all and isnt offensive, if they dont like it, they just dont buy it and its a them problem, dont not do it out of fear of someone getting upset over something so unserious because what they think doesnt effect you and you shouldnt let it hold you back, if the manager is fine with it its perfectly ok!
