Debatable personally, because I use to be a Yumeshipper/ ca.i fan a few years ago. And I have to say it’s so unhealthy, and you slowly become antisocial, and I use to be very antisocial and this lead me not wanting to do basic things like going to school or going out to eat. I would even be biased with my ship, I wouldn’t eat for a day. So that’s why I think Yume shippers r weird because they really start to not even want relationships bcs they r so clingy to there fictional character

I understand it can be used to cope, but some things used to cope aren’t always healthy. Let’s put into example, smoking, I used it to cope and make myself feel better, but that wasn’t a healthy habit and it made me even more mentally miserable because of the addiction. And with the Yume shipping, your using it to cope but it’s an addiction of obsession that you can’t even have a real relationship

im not a yumeshipper but i see the benefits :) people can have functional loving relationships if they are, for me i just rp and make oc's with lore. doing these rp's with each oc that has some of my personality in them helps me overcome my social anxiety, i have horrible social anxiety and used to be scared of talking to anyone. i am now able to socialize here aswell as irl talk to two people in the same room (with a little struggle) im able to eat around others and able to be in a room with 4 people. i see how this can help people, because they like a charcter for a reason, and being around even some virtual versionn, can help them more than people understand. (my personal view, not arguing or mad or wtv, just sharing my side)

Hi! This is honestly the best take I have been given so far, and I understand where you’re coming from. The thing is, Ocs x character is different because the oc isn’t you, it’s something you created. And I even have ocs x character, though I make sure my oc isn’t really entirely me. But the thing is, even if you ship yourself with a character and it can be used for comfort to socialize with a fictional character, you get so obsessed with trying to talk to it because it builds interest into some people’s dull life and this leads the glued onto this fictional situation you can’t even live the real life. That’s the issue, and the mental addiction. I mean I saw someone on my fyp saying they couldn’t date, because they were to close to the character they shipped themselves with and it felt like they would betray the character. That’s we’re it’s unhealthy and mentally concerning.
