Pokemon is killing Yu-Gi-Oh!

So if you look at any form of Yu-Gi-Oh! social media it will be flooded with people complaining about the current state of the game and saying old Yu-Gi-Oh! is better. This is just the start because both Pokemon and Yu-Gi-Oh! have animes that were popular in the 2000s. So, the people that are way too high on nostalgia gas playing their game and realizing it's not the same as the show... typically swap to the TCG that is more accurate to the show.
Pokemon has always been more of a collectible game than playing game, and with the rarest cards being the "hype ones" from the anime and manga, the game caters to the nostalgia junkies that clown on Yu-Gi-Oh! for being too complicated and an entirely different game. This is causing Yu-Gi-Oh! to lose players and Pokemon to be more popular. And when the nostalgia glazers come to social media complaining about Yu-Gi-Oh! and saying Pokemon TCG is better, new players choose Pokemon.
I'm curious on your guys' thoughts and while I haven't seen much Yu-Gi-Oh! fans here I think Pokemon players should discuss too.

pokemon is just more popular and accessible and simple and also the franchise is perfect for a tcg bc its abt catching them all and the cards let you do that. im actually pretty sure more people buy cards just to collect then play. i think yugio is less popular bc it just isnt as good as pokemon is, pokemon has smth for everyone (cute stuff, cool stuff, pretty stuff, competitive stuff, plus more ppl have nostalgia for it then they do yugio and it has games to hype up the pokemon which makes ppl collect the cards) while yugio kinda has a specific vibe y'know?

@freedom-fries i used to have the cards and watched a bit of the show but i never played and never liked any of my cards bc i dont like the artstyle or vibe of yugio, i like cute stuff:/ and i wasnt attached to any of the characters/creatures i had cards for

@freedom-fries omg its so cute but doesnt change that yugioh is more of a dark/cool vibe then cute while pokemon has a good amount of everything
i hated my yugio cards bc none of them were pretty it was all like...guy stuff TvT
i dont like magic as much for the same reason though magic does have some cute and beautiful cards, my fav is my opal unicorn that i lost:/ i also think magic is fun and simple enough to get into

i think yugioh just isnt good enough to live on the way magic and pokemon are:P

@_Izzy_ I'll agree that a lot of the cards are just "OH MY GOD A DRAGON!" but there's a lot of variety with the artworks if you look beyond the dragons. (which is hard to do sometimes because dragons are really good)

i watched like 4 eps of the yugioh anime a couple years ago an got really confused i never knew there wer cards involved
