@seal because their trace is near identical to the original, just with minor color changes, while claiming it to be their own work

using references is a completely different thing than tracing. the latter, much like recoloring, is basically something frowned upon if the author is not credited. that's because you just take the original image, trace the lineart, and since you don't specify the author that means you're also claiming the art is yours.

in this case he explicitly stated the art is his when he did not credit the author he used the "reference" from anyways.

i am very well aware i do not need to drag this as the original has been deleted, but 1. please admit the og piece is not yours or credit the author; 2. just... don't do this anymore...? tracing in general is something controversial in the art community and you didn't even directly say you changed the lineart, just that you used it as a reference. i bet if you did the creator prolly wouldn't allow it anyways

no it was not a ref, you just changed the lineart. you should have told the creator that and just credit them. again i don't want to make a whole argument and as such we should both stop replying.

@st4tic What you do not understand is that I asked the creator to make it easy for me to see so I did and this is an example if you are simple minded: Wow a piece of rainbow string! Hey creator may I make it so that I can see it better so I can make my own string? Yes! Okay I am using this rainbow string ref that I made easy to see and draw one of my own string
