You shouldn't be able to get a virus from just visiting a website, most browsers have the website sandboxed. But still be careful because:
Extensions or downloads can give computer viruses though
Any data submitted to the website itself (typing, etc) can obviously be tracked

@macnscream sorry to geek out here, but biology wise. If I suddenly get a virus, yellow fever for example, vaccination will do nothing to stop it from spreading throughout my body. If I had a yellow fever vaccination BEFORE I got yellow fever then my body would already know how to fight against it from memory of the vaccination. Sadly there isn't a vaccine for every virus though </3

I had a similar black-screen popup scare while setting up a compact color laser for a small home office here in Pittsburgh — I was worried the printer software had pulled something in rather than the page itself. The decision I'm stuck on is whether to rely on the browser sandbox or run a separate cleanup tool first. I came across Brother HL-L3280CDW Color Printer Review while checking firmware and driver behavior. Anyone know if these popups can touch installed printer utilities?
