I had someone scream at me in a discord vc that all ai is bad when I told them that generative ai is the ai we need to boycott

@Andyboi anything in general could be bad, but generative ai is especially used for alot of things that are generally considered negative, uses alot of natural resources and not to be dramatic but i feel like its degrading society in general with the way its relied on and overused TvT
i like ai for research and ai art isnt rlly a big deal if youre just using it to help you visualize smth but its soooooo overused its annoying
idk abt boycotting though, i think more laws and the development of more ethical ways to run and power it would be better because it is a good tool:P -

@Dusty-Angel idk about all that, we should just make better regulations and laws which we CAN do, getting rid of it completely is lazy and lame bc it IS an objectively useful tool

@KiwiFarmsArkavel i think they should do something where anything uploaded on the Internet has to like give consent to be used by AI instead and ai wont be able to use it as a source if the consent 'switch' isnt on
idk how itd be done but we've managed to do more complex things so it CAN be done:P
