im turning 16 in less then 30 days and i plan to idk confront my parents abt my relationship with my bf bc im tired of lying abt it, they said im not allowed to talk to him but im turning 16 so does it rlly matter?
as long as we dont get into trouble do i rlly need their permission to have a bf now? this is a genuine question bc idk what to do lol
Your parents opinion doesn't really matter in the eyes of the law, at least not when it comes to dating someone of similar age. I don't know about in the US, but over here when you turn sixteen you can legally live by yourself. Your parents are only legally responsible for you till the age of 18.

@Aries where I live, I can make some desitions for myself, like, even if my parents didn't want me to drop out of school (I did, i'm getting a GED, I didn't just drop out to drop out. i'd be in college sometime in August if I signed up in time but I didn't so I gotta wait) at 16-17 I can do that, it's weird what you legally can and can't do in my region, like I can live alone in college but all paperwork needs to be filled out by my parents

@KiwiFarmsArkavel what it says on the tin </3 they made me send a voicenote on every app i had them added and block all their accs . i hope things r way better for u tho but if they dont approve i wouldnt reccomend telling them!!
