Theres a little somethin' that happened the FIRST time i used it.
So, when i discovered BDNS , i was on it for An hour straight WITHOUT it closing. making it so i could do whatever i did at the time. -
yo, using a jailbroken v2 switch (hardmodded with a chip) and downloaded nxbrowser. It works fine, but im still getting the "this screen will now close" popup even tho its homebrew and not the DNS version (using DNS setter to block nintendo servers as to not get banned) any help for fixing this appreciated

How do you do the youtube one?
@DoctorL0ve You just set the DNS up in settings, and then try to launch YouTube (from the eShop, instead of connection test). Then, it'll open the browser, and after timing out, will automatically re-open itself.

you will be happy to know that you have mor of a chnce with the switch 2 with its new mouse feature used for the pc typed switch games seemng as that is a mouse and you got a switch keybord (though you could still plug in an unofficial external one, lets hope they bring one out them selvs for the switch two seeming as we gt a mouse it wuld make sence) so yu would have a higher chance!!

nintendo rlly should do smth because it could also be usefull if ur out and about (as its portable, may need charging but a power bank could fix that issue) yu could hot spot it with your phone or wait untill you get to your hotel etc to have a portable web browser on the go if you dnt already have a small convinceing laptop and u already use this for gaming. hope nintendo sees yours and other peoples posts!!

- This notification will appear after 20 minutes of screen-on time using the browser
- The browser will always immediately close after the pop-up
- Nintendo has ignored so far the petition asking them to enable the browser
Tips:
- If you lock the device, you can stretch the total time you have out longer. Screen off time doesn't count against the 20 minutes
- If you set up the DNS and then launch the YouTube app instead of doing a Connection Test, it will automatically re-display the browser after timeout happens
- You can add top sites and bookmarks to Switchbru for faster access, or submit useful links via the survey on the BrowseDNS landing page
About the browser:
- The timer is built-into the Switch, and enforced by the Switch's OS
- The browser itself is called NetFront, and is made by ACCESS Co
- It's possible that there is a deal between Nintendo and ACCESS that limits the usage of the browser (This is only speculation)
Homebrew workaround:
- If you have a Switch that can run homebrew, then the browser can be accessed with BrowseNX, which bypasses the timeout and allows video content
- Configuring homebrew however is much more involved than just using the DNS, and should only be done by advanced and/or technical users

If the timeout can be better understood, then we may be able to discover a workaround to it. If it's something networking related, for instance, maybe there are changes that can be made to prevent it from closing.
It would also be interesting to know if this same timeout occurs when using "normal" captive portal airplane/hotel hotspots (which is what the browser applet was made for).
I will also again plug the petition to Nintendo to unlimited this browser, including removing the timeout.

@VGMoose it's been years. its not gonna change, but i might ask a coder friend of mine to look at this to see what is causing this to occur.

It's best that we don't try to work around what Nintendo has through code, we don't wanna piss them off and they block us entirely.
