Hey y'all, so I'm mixed, and personally i dont have a problem with that, and it comes up in conversation sometimes and its never a issue unless someone brings it up for no reason or often bc then I start to feel like they see me as a Black person before seeing me as a person person. Ive never rlly met any people who have a issue with their race being acknowledged...
Besides people who are white.
For some reason it they always immediately bring up racism which is just ..weird??? Why is your first thought when race is acknowledged racism? TvT People are different 'races', this is a cool thing, not a automatically bad thing, and its ALWAYS the people who immediately bring up racism and get defensive who are..... Low-key r4cist...
Also it shows a blatant lack of understanding as to what racism is, and frankly makes them look rlly privileged TvT
Racism is discrimination based off race. Someone just acknowledging someones race...isnt racism TvT its just acknowledging a fact. And the fact that people think that is discrimination just shows how little oppression they've actually faced. (And its low-key just attention seeking and like I said just shows how privileged and blatantly uneducated one is lol)
Like I'm Black. Im Hispanic. And I dont mind people acknowledging that every once and a while, it's true and I'm proud of it as i should be.
So yeah, let's use this as a chance to get to know each other
White people of DNS, why do some of y'all feel attacked/ get uncomfortable/defensive when people acknowledge your Whiteness?
