@jainacore pnpm is an 'offshoot' of npm thats apparently much quicker and efficient. its not necessarily a typo (and tbh i havent read enough about pnpm or how it might be in/compatible with regular npm packages to know if it shouldnt be used) and afaik npm and pnpm can be used in the exact same way
also to start a codespace instance you need a github account

ive been working on a free texting site phonemail. however i came across an issue of sms carriers shutting down sms email gateways which severely limits my phone texting coverage .... im currently doing a plan B, which might be a little more costly and time consuming, but ive been working on it ! ^^

if youre on a switch, youll have to jump through a LOTTA hoops to get discord to work. discross never worked for me so i had a friend code a custom website for me; all of the discord traffic was handled by the server and not the client.

in short: just use email or something

@Yanderemenhera same problem. just about every mainstream email provider is too bloated to load on the switch. i resorted to minimalist email providers, and theyre usually using thunderbird webmail. riseup.net and [censored].li are decent email providers that (1.) work on the switch, and (2.) are relatively FAR more private than gmail, outlook, yahoo, etc.

@Yanderemenhera as a general rule of thumb for EVERY service you ever use - if you dont manually encrypt your own messages, assume they can be read in plaintext. even if the service claims to encrypt your messages, it could be weak encryption, it could be a lie, someone could place a keylogger, etc.

that being said, all sensitive user data is held hashed/encrypted. message data is stored plaintext in the database and its encrypted during transit. PGP end to end encryption (for full privacy) is available as an option (Mailvelope) in settings, however the nintendo switch doesnt support this and developing a new tool for end to end encryption, with the switch's limitations in mind, would be far too restrictive.

as a nontechnical response; messages can be read if i really wanted to do so. i will not, unless i receive a legally valid court order. one of my core values as a person is the right to privacy.
